Turn to God
I am making my way through the Bible again by reading/listening to the Bible Recap. I enjoy the chronological layout as well as the brief overview each day by Tara Leigh Cobble. One of the things she likes to remind us of, especially during this time in the Old Testament, is that shame and guilt in our lives often turn us away from God. As ridiculous as it sounds, we try to hide from Him when carrying those burdens. However, when we trust in His goodness and justice, grace and faithfulness, our sin should drive us into His arms for the forgiveness that is ours through Christ. Satan loves to use shame and guilt to keep us from our Father. He whispers of our unworthiness; he taunts us with our past. That is not of God. Turn to God with your shame, with your guilt, and listen for the beat of His heart calling you home. It may feel impossible or even dark as you begin this journey, but do not fear! You may be walking under the shadow of the cross. There is no other way to your Father’s heart.
God is GOOD ~ ALL the time!
