Shimmers of Paradise

It says a lot about the nature of our world when these promises seem so far removed from our current reality that we have a hard time wrapping our hearts and minds around them. However, when we choose to walk closely with our Savior on this side of forever, He allows us glimpses of Paradise and foreshadows the Perfection to come. These heavenly promises might be seen in the heart of someone who loves generously, gives with abandon, or forgives the seemingly unforgivable. When we notice and stand in thanks-filled awe over the tiniest details of a flower, or the way the scent of magnolia swirls and envelopes in the most glorious way, we receive glimpses of Paradise awaiting. When we read about or watch while the miraculous is displayed for all to see, and our love and belief are overwhelmed by the knowledge of His Goodness, we see a shimmer of Paradise. And while death and sorrow and crying and pain may still exist in this world, when I walk with my Savior on this side of Heaven, He still dries my tears.
