Whole Hearted Halleluiahs
“Praise the LORD, oh my soul;
And all that is within me, praise His holy name!” Psalm 103 is a beautiful love song written by David to the God of his heart, his soul, his everything. There are no half-hearted hallelujahs for David. He wants to bring every bit of his being before the LORD in praise. He then goes on to enumerate the character traits of God—forgiveness, mercy, goodness, justice, and steadfastness. I love the image Charles Spurgeon brings to this: “He selects a few of the choicest pearls from the jewelry box of divine love, threads them on the string of memory, and hangs them about the neck of gratitude.”
Our verse today declares the absolute sovereignty of our good Father over every single thing. There is nothing beyond His reach. Nothing. Praise Him today. Seek Him today. Trust Him today.
God is GOOD ~ ALL the time!
