This Love…

The love that Paul refers to in this verse is agape. “Agape love is unconcerned with the self and concerned with the greatest good of another. Agape isn’t born just out of emotions, feelings, familiarity, or attraction, but from the will and as a choice. Agape requires faithfulness, commitment, and sacrifice without expecting anything in return.” (Christianity.com)

Agape love comes from our Father in Heaven; God alone is its source. It is from this sacrificial love that we are saved through Christ. It is this love we receive as a gift of the Holy Spirit. It is this love that will be evident in our lives as Fruit of the Spirit. It is this love that we are called to reflect to the world. This love is born of Truth and, therefore, with evil, it cannot coexist.

My mind was immediately filled with story after story of athletes who sacrificed their positions to help a fellow athlete. Instead of cheering at their opportunity to overtake their opponent, they willingly stop to help them. We all love these stories! I always cry at these stories. ALWAYS! Let Love be the fuel for our race. Let’s seek ways to lift each other up today and Love Big!! Love always wins😊
God is GOOD ~ ALL the time!
