Taste and See
In this psalm, David urges us to savor and know the goodness of the Lord for ourselves. For example, think about honey. I can study every property of honey, all the way to its molecular composition, but until I taste it, I know nothing of its sweetness. Until I consume it, I know nothing of the energy burst it offers when I am dragging on the trail. I must be willing to try something before I can fully experience it… delight in it. It is the same with God. You can read about and study God. You can dissect every little detail ever written about God, but you won’t know God until you experience God and His goodness in your life. Until you turn to him, until you become captivated by Him, until you SEE Him with the eyes of your heart, you won’t understand His goodness. His love will be words left scattered on pages. Taste and see? Heck! I want to consume and absorb every morsel! I want to gaze into the most intimate depths of the soul of Life and seek God’s face! And I want to echo His goodness to this world.
God is GOOD ~ ALL the time!
